Two new Dare County commissioners elected in March primary

MANTEO — Two Republicans from Wanchese effectively won two of this year’s five open seats on the Dare County Board of Commissioners after defeating two incumbent Manteo Republicans in the March 5 primary election.

 

No one from any other political party filed for either seat, so both Michael “Mike” Burrus and Carson Creef are running unopposed for their respective District 1 seats on the Nov. 5 ballot. District 1 represents Roanoke Island and the Dare County mainland.
