NAGS HEAD — Chants of “No kings!” regularly rippled through the hundreds of marching protesters along the sidewalks of Nags Head by U.S. Highway 158 on Saturday morning.
Participants’ signs and chants were met with many honks, shouts, fist-pumps and waves from people driving by.
Local event organizers estimated between 800 and 1,000 people attended the event, which included both sign-waving by Dowdy Park and a march.
Protest participants spanned all ages, from older veterans to children, and included both full-time and part-time Outer Banks residents, as well as visitors.
